This Is Not a Government Office or Records Custodian. Norwalk Residents Directory is privately operated. It cannot retrieve records, certify copies, confirm occupancy, or remove a name from a roll. Send those requests to the agency that created or keeps the record. Call 911 in an emergency. If you face stalking or harassment, contact local law enforcement.
Choose the Right Records Office
For a common Norwalk records question, begin with the source that has authority over that record:
- Who owns or lives along a street: start with the Norwalk street directory path from an address to the proper county record
- Old directory volumes and past residents: use the Norwalk city directory collection notes and library route
- Finding or verifying one person: follow the Norwalk resident lookup workflow across official sources
- The offices behind the rolls: visit the Norwalk resident records offices list
- A record that is not posted online: ask the named custodian for a California Public Records Act request under Government Code §§7920.000 et seq.
Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk: The headquarters is at 12400 Imperial Highway, Norwalk, CA 90650. Public hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call (800) 201-8999; real-estate questions use option 3. The recorder email is recorder@rrcc.lacounty.gov. Use the RR/CC contact page or its public-records request instructions for the current department route.
Norwalk City Clerk and municipal records: Contact City Hall at 12700 Norwalk Blvd, (562) 929-5720, or recordsrequests@norwalkca.gov. The city's public-records request portal is another channel for a municipal request.
Under Government Code §7922.535, an agency generally makes a disclosability determination within 10 calendar days and may extend that period by up to 14 days for unusual circumstances. That is a response window for the determination, not a promise that a copy will be produced by the same date. California's CPRA does not replace special access rules for court, voter, vital, or deed records.
