Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. Norwalk Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. A message sent to us contains only the information you choose to include, which is used to answer that message.
Routine Technical Logs
The hosting service records ordinary technical details such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time stamps. Those details are reviewed in aggregate to maintain the site and understand general page use. Basic analytics, and where applicable advertising measurement, may use cookies or similar tools.
How the Information Is Used
The purposes are practical: operate the pages, resolve technical issues, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from this information.
External Portals and Links
Pages may point to Los Angeles County and California records portals, Norwalk Library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Once you leave these pages, the outside provider's privacy policy controls what you submit and how it is handled. Sponsored search results are also supplied by a separate company.
Who May Process It
Hosting and other service providers may process the technical logs needed to run the site. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure occurs when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise is limited to operating the service.
Security and Retention
The connection to the site is encrypted, and technical logs are kept only for as long as the purposes above call for them. There are no user accounts here, so this site does not hold a password or account profile for you.
Visitors Under 18
Norwalk Residents Directory is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information to us, contact us and request its deletion.
California Privacy Choices
For covered commercial data, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, Civil Code §1798.100 et seq., may provide rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive information, and avoid discrimination for exercising those rights. Because this site retains very little, a request generally means checking the contact mailbox and applicable server logs, then removing information that is found. Use the Contact page to make that request.
Government information is generally outside the CCPA and CPRA. A Los Angeles County or Norwalk record remains under the control of its custodian, so a request about that record must go to the Assessor, Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, City Clerk, court, or other office that created it. California's Safe at Home program, Government Code §§6205 et seq., can provide eligible participants with a substitute mailing address and confidential voter registration; this site cannot enroll a person or change those protections.
Policy Changes
